Our dreams “must” mean something , right? If you try and remember them, if you understand them and even try and interpret your dreams , it is possible to not only unlock and discover truths about yourself, but also help you change your future. Some dreams are so prophetic that they can actually guide you to a particular future – and that inevitable deja’vu moment!
Do you ever think your dreams are just too weird to share? There are so many common dreams that emanate from our subconscious, recurring dreams, prophetic dreams, dreams about lucky numbers, dreams about animals, dreams where some people have actually met their life partner, or gained an inheritance and also dreams that guide you to your fortune.
Dreams can reveal to us what we are afraid of and it can also tell us what we truly desire. All our innermost secrets live inside the subconscious, and come alive when we sleep.
There are plenty of common themes in all dreams which can either mean freedom, control, fears and also love. These are the forces which guide our dreams. You will notice how most dreams have such a literal meaning, it’s almost funny and ironic sometimes. Sometimes it really is your mind trying to put order to 'things'.
This dream is usually connected to work and a work 'challenge' on the horizon, so you are worried about it. School was our first job ever, so feeling like you 'will be tested' means that you have to prove yourself. Look at how you felt in the dream as a key takeaway for you.
Ants are rarely seen as cute or warm but rather , very busy - very tiny, and there's usually lots of them, so most times, they are 'annoying'.
This means that you are thinking about little things that are annoying you.
Think about places in your life where you might be annoyed, or stressed about little things, and that’s probably the reason you’re dreaming about these ants.
Babies or having children is also another very common dream theme, with quite a simple meaning. You want to continue and grow and create a legacy. It also means that you want to be make the world a better place, like what mothers and fathers do in their children's world's, by protecting and nurturing them.
However, because its so common, there is also another side to this coin, and that is that could be that you’re holding something back.
Dreaming about children can also mean that you’re wanting to develop your relationship with your own inner child. It’s said that everyone has an inner child or true self that is itching to be released and freed. This sometimes manifests in the form of a dream. Check out our lucky numbers guide to see which number to play if you dream about babies.

**See Also Money**
We all want wealth right, in some way or the other.
Remember dreaming about money , can confirm your brain's desire for wealth, but it is also very closely linked to freedom.
What an intense dream to have! I can imagine that this could be quite a supernatural experience.
We cant really remember what this was even like, so our brains make something up.
Maybe you are re-birthing yourself in a particular situation. This can be quite liberating.
Someone (something ) is chasing you, you just don't even know who or what it is.
Usually it’s not anything in particular but just a strong ‘feeling’ like you’re being chased, and so you run and run away from it, never really getting far enough. In the dream of course, it does not seem like you're getting away from what is 'really' chasing you, and you sometimes feel like you are slowing down, like you can't even run away.
This usually means that you are worried about an issue that you have not resolved. Eg: if you know that that you need to do a task urgently, and you dream about being chased is like your brain saying ‘come on, pay attention to this issue and , now’.
If you have ever been cheated on in the past, you will remember that sinking feeling when you first found out. This has been wired into your brain and now labelled as ‘bad’. So whenever you're in a future relationship (after being cheated on before) we sadly spend a little bit of time dreaming or thinking about ‘what if I got cheated on again?’ And that’s why we sometimes dream about being cheated on.
It doesn’t always mean you can't or don’t trust your partner, you have to consider how badly you have been hurt before. You might have the best most loyal partner ever, but if you’ve been cheated on a lot before, it’s only natural to be a little cautious. The best thing here, is to talk about it.
Ah , to be exposed! This often mirrors something you have experienced in your real waking life.
Experiencing shame is not quite a nice feeling, so sometimes we dream about it because of that fear which still lingers in our minds. What is it that your are worrying about, confront it in your waking life.
Definitely 2 meanings for this one.
Sometimes you really don't want to be seen.
BUT it can also mean that we feel like we’re seen so much that we just don’t want the fame anymore, and want to remain under the radar and law low for a little while.
Again, something that hardly happens in real waking life, and yes - nobody wants to be kidnapped.
So, dreaming about being kidnapped means that you are actually scared of a situation changing.
This type of dream is actually a little more common among parents, who are literally scared that their child might be taken.
Nobody likes being late, it is rather inconsiderate (and I hate being late for picking up the kids, or for meetings right)! It shows that we are not good at keeping time and is a little embarrassing too.
So it does represent a fear most of us have, and again something we avoid therefore quite common that it weighs on our minds in the waking world. Every time we go to a meeting or gathering, what’s going through our minds as we journey there?
‘I hope I’m not late!’ and that’s what we think about and focus on a lot, and your dreams can reply this fear.
Financial freedom is quite liberating (so they say)! Dreaming of being rich or having lots of money is actually again a dream about the freedom.
The reason there are so many dreams that mean the same thingand that they are so common, is because so many people want more of that freedom and time. Their brains just have different ways of portraying it. Being super rich can be a way to feel free from burdensome worries and you feel like you can live the life you have always wanted.
From a young age we are told to not expose ourselves to other children or people, we are told to protect our 'private' parts and not show this to anyone. So, sadly this too is a common dream, because we all have an (irrational) fear of being embarrassed in-front of 'society'.
This means that to dream about being naked means that you are worried about how people will think of you.
In some way, you are very worried about the appearances you portray (whether real or not) , but even how you appear in society, at work, or even to a friend or a loved one.
Pay attention to how often you have this dream, and think about ways in which you can reduce this worry. On the other hand, you should not worry too much about what people think of you, they should accept you for who you truly are.
Pregnancy in a dream usually means that you are getting ready to give birth or figuratively to bring forth 'something' new in your life (like a new relationship, new job, travel plans or even trying to change yourself, or quitting your old job and embarking on a new adventure!). It can also denote being scared of taking on new responsibilities.
To dream about it in a negative way (the feeling of the dream is rushed, panicked, stressed) can mean you are not ready to take on new challenges.
Lastly, you could actually be dreaming about a baby, if you’re worried about being pregnant in the literal.
If you are ill in your dreams, it can suggest that you are worried about changes, or perhaps you are losing control of 'something' or some situation.
Usually, dreaming of being ill or even dying from an illness is a sign you are also not happy with your health situation. We generally have some sort of idea about our health and we know what’s bad and good for us, so take care of your health. Remember, if you are worried about it, its on your mind.
Being sexually active in public is a naughty idea indeed (and for most people something never experienced). Often, to have this dream can mean that you want more excitement and action in your life.
**See also Being Stabbed**
Much the same as a stabbing dream, being shot in a dream just means you are consuming too much negative media. Being shot is something that almost no one in the first world really experiences in real life. We only hear about it through social media, news, TV, etc.
If you stopped consuming those types of media, then you would dream about it much less.
Of course, this is different if for example you have been in the military and have real memories of being shot at, in which case the dream could be a really bad memory and is then a symptom of PTSD.
**See also Being Shot**
This seems like another nightmare rather than calling it a dream. But with the rise of violent crime and media, it really is no wonder that it is becoming a common dream. Lots of people are starting to have these dreams about being stabbed, or shot, or mugged. It’s mainly due to the media and how they portray only negative events and we consume more of that now than ever before.
To stop these types of dreams, just stop watching TV. It’s doing you no good anyway!
If you are dreaming about being stabbed in the back, it can mean that you are worried that someone close is going to betray you.
Usually being or feeling lost in a dream means that you are anxious or scared. But look at the actual dream and try to discern what it is that you could be scared of. Or is it your mind just playing tricks on you?
Sometimes dreaming about being lost can mean that you are really lacking direction in your life and you feel like you don't have any goals or achievements.
Aliens mean different things for everyone.
For some , aliens mean a higher intelligence and so to dream about them means you are really seeking more wisdom and knowledge.
For other people, they’re scary, and to dream about them is just a nightmare experience.
To dream about being trapped tends to mean you are worried about your current situation. This can be related to your job, perhaps a relationship (or it could even relate to the country you’re currently living in).
Your mind tends to show you things in a subtle way. So, look at your circumstance and discern what it is that is trapping you. If you dream about being trapped in a small space , it usually means that you are not happy with where you are right now, and that you want to change your 'current situation'. Being trapped in a dream, is hardly a good thing.
This is most commonly a sign that you are thinking about your childhood home. It can also mean you’re thinking about security or the feeling of being safe.
Both homes and buildings are linked with safety and warmth, and also shelter. Therefore, we think of 'home'. To dream about somebody else’s home might mean that you want to spend more time with that person.
Pay attention to which room of the house or building you find yourself in. Are you hiding in a room? Or are you at the top of the house, looking at the world through the window. Which room you dream about makes a difference in terms of the meaning of this dream.
The idea of some strange rummaging around downstairs in the middle of the night is downright scary. It has been drilled into us that it’s a terrifying experience from (again) horror films and the media, and so our brains sometimes play tricks on us and make us dream about it.
It can also mean the same sort of things as the dream about hiding from something, and it just means you’re feeling insecure about something.

Clothing is very much a symbol or a statement of who we are, it is a way of saying to people (quite literally by showing them) ‘this is who I am’.
And, therefore dreaming about clothing means how you want to project yourself to the world.
If you are wearing vastly different clothes in waking life than you do in your dream, it means that you are not projecting your true-self to the waking world. If, for example, you are always wearing really bright and colourful clothes in your dream, but in reality you don't, it’s like your brain is actually telling you that you must express yourself more and to become more confident. Check out our lucky numbers guide to see which number to play if you dream about clothing.
For many of us our childhood home is a safe haven. It is a symbol of safety, of love and of a sanctuary.
Of course this depends on the upbringing you had in the home, but for most of us it is where we most feel comfortable and safe growing up.
To dream about your old childhood home then in this instance, may suggest that you are feeling a little scared or shaken at something going on in your life right now and you want to go back to what you know, to what was 'comfortable and safe'.
Mountains are generally associated with a challenge or perhaps a hurdle to overcome. So to dream about a mountain is usually just your brain internalising this challenge.
The challenge could be something you have just faced (so, well done you!) or it is something that is coming, and you are thinking about it a lot.
If you dream that that you can't climb the mountain, you are probably not feeling confident about this change or challenge coming your way, but good luck (you've got this!).

Dreaming about a car crash can usually means that you are worried about something that is about to happen, just as a car crash 'happens so unexpectedly'. Usually it’s if you’re about to have a job interview or something like that and now your brain starts playing tricks on you making you wonder ‘what if it goes wrong?’.It can also just be reliving a memory, so if you’ve ever actually been 'in' a car crash, but for most of us it means you’re worried about the outcome of a future event you’re planning for. Check out our lucky numbers guide to see which number to play if you dream about a crash.
Firstly, this does not mean you want to commit some heinous crime, and that in your dream you are subconsciously preparing to do something 'really bad'.
Sometimes we dream about things we are curious about so you might have a really calm person dreaming about murdering someone just because they’re stressed or they want to know what it’s like. Pay attention to this dream.
You usually only dream about a cross if you are in a 'world' that recognises them. Traditionally, the cross is a Christian symbol (the death and rebirth of Christ). So, its generally linked to faith.
In other parts of the world however, this can mean very different things so it is worth doing a bit of research to find out what this means for you specifically.
If you’re not a Christian and you keep dreaming about crosses, it can mean that there is trouble or somewhat dangerous times ahead. Check out our lucky numbers guide to see which number to play if you dream about a cross.
Crying dreams are often an outlet for repressed emotions and feelings. You are bottling it all up and need to find a way to release it.
Often when we dream about crying it’s just our bodies way of letting out some of these emotions.
Not everyone cries in waking life, so dreams are sometimes a way to release emotions and feelings that have been bottled up. I love a good cry, let it out!
This is not always a dream about a pet that has died already. Infact, sometimes we are so scared about a pet in our waking life, a pet you really love and care for (who might also be perfectly healthy) but you start to think ‘what would happen if it died’.And your mind starts to play tricks on you and this is why you can dream about it dying. There’s no real reason , you are just worried about it happening and so think about more subconsciously.
Death dreams are fairly personal like most dreams, and so you can’t really put a label on what a death dream really means. It "can" be said that these dreams are rarely good. It’s almost always considered bad or negative to die.
On a simpler level though, a dream about death can actually just mean you’re accepting that you’re changing into someone else.
When we change, there is a part of who we once were that has to die to make way for the person that we are becoming. It means that we are changing and this change in your brain and body are trying to make sense of it.
It’s not the most fun dream to have, but it can be positive if it’s linked to a positive changes in your life.
We only see pictures and images of demons or monsters in horror movies, so it is not a natural thing to 'just' dream about. It does however fall under a common themed dream, as many people tend to watch the occasional horror movie. So , often this dream is a direct result of having watched a horror film, clip , or YouTube video.
But , it can also be linked to what we consider these demons or monsters to actually mean. That means, if they are bad then dreaming about them can then mean we are anxious or feeling negative about something that is going on our lives.
This is very different for everyone.
Some people love dogs and have very fond memories and thoughts linked with them, but others are terrified of dogs and always dream about being chased or even being bitten by them.
To dream about a dog chasing you can mean that you are running away from life's responsibilities, or that perhaps you are not ready for a commitment in your life right now. It might for example, mean you’re in financial difficulty and the dog is literally your bills chasing you.
It could also mean that you’re unhappy in your relationship. Check out our lucky numbers guide to see which number to play if you dream about dogs.
This can mean many things.
If you are doing something wrong , pressing the wrong button on a phone, deleting work on your laptop, or getting into the wrong car means you’re not sure of direction in your life. You are getting it wrong, literally, in the real waking life.
This should be up there as the no. 1 common dream!
It means that you are either feeling or wanting to feel powerful and to feel free. Something in your life or in a situation is stifling you, and you just want to feel more in control.
I have also experienced many flying dreams at various stages of my life. In lucid dreams, you can learn to control the flying dream even more, and stabilise the dream to make it feel even better.
Why would someone even dream about this, right! Food is linked to health and to sustenance, and even wealth.
To dream about eating rotten food or that food has gone bad, can mean that you are worried you are not getting enough nutrition. Change it up, get what you need and improve your health.
To dream about something sharp and horrible, like eating broken glass means that you are having trouble saying what you want to say. (I definitely have had this dream, yuk!).
It is linked with not being able to express yourself clearly, and can be a sign that you need to work on your confidence, and be your true self.
There are plenty of foods that have 'salts' or 'sugars' in them, and other addictive ingredients.
So to dream about them just means subconsciously that you are craving it.
Dreaming about an ex lover is also dependant on whether it was a good ex experience or a bad one.
If you have had a relationship in the past that went on for a long period of time, then the memories associated with that ex are still very strong in your mind. Our brains often visit and revisit old memories from time to time in our dreams.
If you have some unresolved memories with an ex lover, this can be a huge dream that you will also keep having over and over again. The best solution is to literally either get in contact with your ex and resolve it. If it was a bad ex-experience, then rather don't get in touch but try and get it off your mind.
Falling dreams are super common among people of all ages. We are wired to avoid it, just like being attacked or injured. It is actually said that we sometimes dream about bad things , so that we can get used to how it feels , if it actually happened. I certainly can't get used to the feeling in a falling dream and I have had them thousands of times!
We dream about being attacked or chased (the theory says) so that if we ever were attacked, it wouldn’t be the most insane thing ever, because our brains have already ‘tested’ that situation in a dream and sort of know the basics, there's that déjà vu feeling again.
But, falling dreams usually mean that you are not in control of what is currently going in your life, and that you are lacking leadership in some aspect of your life. Pay attention to this if you’re having regular falling dreams - as it can mean that you are feeling a little hopeless and that you could even be depressed.
Dreaming about falling in love with someone is actually really common.
We all like the idea of finding love and dreams are often a way to manifest this desire.
Usually this is just space that your brain hasn’t quite filled yet, but this normally gives reference to a part of your life where you just think or feel nothing is changing.
For example if you find yourself working in an empty room, it can mean you just don’t think anything’s going on at work in terms of career progression.
If the feeling of the dream is excitement however, it can mean that you’re ready to find something new and exciting in your life, and this could could take on many forms.
Fire is usually bad, it is wild and uncontrollable.
So, to dream about fire can mean anger, maybe even destruction (sometimes its actually passion). Sometimes if you are angry or unhappy with a situation, you will dream about fire the same night and even destroying things and being in a fight.
The other reason you might dream about fire is if you’ve got good and strong memories of it, bonfires, campfires, which is different and denotes feeling safe, warm and happy. This isn’t for everyone though. Check out our lucky numbers guide to see which number to play if you dream about a fire.
If you are drowning in your dream, you are actually worried about losing control of something or a particular situation. You feel like you are overwhelmed and helpless in a situation or area in your life. Consider which areas of your life need fixing and then do it.
There are multiple interpretations of this dream. It can mean that you are hungry, but what if you went to sleep and you had just eaten, and are quite stuffed?
You can usually tell with this dream whether it’s a random dream about food, or whether you went to bed hungry the night before.
Sometimes if you desire something before bed and then go to sleep thinking about it, you’ll dream about it.
Going to bed hungry is actually a technique that you can use to become lucid in a way, because your mind is so focused on finding food that you’re likely to be more 'aware'.

Tattoos are a very personal and individual thing, and so to dream about them means you might want to stand out a bit more. You want to express yourself.
Maybe you feel like you’re not being 'heard', no one is listening to you, perhaps you are not being taken seriously on something.
Horses and horseback riding is usually linked with being free, being in nature, and riding around doing essentially what you want. Dreaming about horses can mean that you want or feel like you have more freedom in your life. Check out our lucky numbers guide to see which number to play if you dream about horses.
Yes, a common dream where a lot of people actually report speaking with higher beings or super intelligent beings or forces. This could even be that you are dreaming about your ancestors. Since this is personal, the meaning of these dreams is only really clear to the person experiencing them. if they are telling you to do something, it is likely that you will listen.
Arguments in dreams generally mean that you have unresolved emotional issues, often with a particular relationship or a situation. Its almost always about people and interpersonal relationships.
Usually the argument itself will tell you what the dream means, because you will dream about arguing about the actual issue.
If you are dreaming about hiding from something in your home, or with your family, then it denotes that you are scared or worried about your own safety, in your 'safe' place.
These feelings and dream signs can also mean you’re feeling insecure in yourself, in terms of your confidence or perhaps of your life plan, and that you are bottling it up.
**See Also Flying dreams**
Sometimes when we jump really high in our dreams it can actually turns into a flying dream. In fact the most common way of flying in dreams is just to jump really high and see what happens.
If you’re just jumping really high but NOT flying, it can mean that you want more freedom in life but you feel like you’re being held back by someone or something.
This is another negative, but common dream. Sometimes it is just a direct result of too many violent video games, or movies, or even suppressed anger.
Either way this is not a good dream to have. So please pay close attention to kit and how often you dream it. If you find yourself regularly dreaming about killing people, and the same people, then something in your life is significantly very wrong (whether too much violence in media, or really unhealthy and unaddressed anger hurt and frustrations).
Kissing dreams are a very common dream that usually just link to your intense desire to have sex or to have intimate contact with the opposite sex, and with someone in particular.
If you’re dreaming about kissing a friend or someone you know, it could suggest that you have got feelings for that person, so that’s something to think about.
To dream about laughing or finding something funny is almost always a good thing.
Have you ever been woken up by your own laughter, I most certainly have! I’ve had lots of dreams when I’ve woken up crying with laughter!
It generally means that you are leading a happy life, you are fulfilled and that you are even what you deem as being successful. Might sound rare right, but falls in our 100 common dreams for most people.
Being lost in the dark in your dream can denote a level of frustration and sometimes, even anger at something. Being lost in our waking life, is annoying enough as it is, but being lost in the dark means that you are completely helpless and have no chance at finding yourself.
Having this dream is a nightmare if its a Jimmy Choo!
Having this dream is one that relates to not being protected.
Shoes are linked with protection from the elements and the dangers on the ground. To dream of losing it can mean that you’re worried about some protection or security.
Another nightmare in today's society , I cant think of anyone who is 'not' attached to their phones?
We think about or use our phones errrm quite a lot right (infact you may be reading this on your phone right now). So, Imagine losing your phone, unthinkable!
Dreaming about this is that because our phones are of course a link to communication, so to lose it can mean that you are having a breakdown of communication with your loved ones or partner, or some important relationship. Consider if you’re speaking your mind and communicating properly.
Being lost in a forest can mean one of two things.
One meaning is that you are scared, lost and lacking control in life or with a certain aspect of your life.
The other is that you are lost but you want to be lost. For a lot of people being lost and finding yourself in a hidden or unknown place is very appealing.
Most of us want more money so that we can enjoy life more and do the things we really want to do. There are ways of doing this without having to have more money, but for most people, 'more money means more fun' and pleasure in life.
So to dream about money might just mean that you want that bit extra so you can finally do those things you really want , like take that holiday or buy that new car. It can sometimes mean that you just want power, which is not always a good thing.
Famous people are famous because they captivate peoples attention, so no wonder we dream about them.
Usually every celebrity or famous person you know is linked with 'something'. Let’s say you dream about a famous comedian, maybe it’s saying you want to be more confident or even funnier? Or if you dream about a famous athlete, it could suggest you want to become more fit.
It is usually linked to what the person is famous for, except when it’s a sex dream (in which case it’s pure desire).
We all want to meet our celeb hero's and celeb crushes (even though some people are a little disappointed when they actually do meet him/ her in the real life).
Most dream meanings are linked to what you’re feeling about what’s happening in your life at any given moment, but water is linked to emotions.
Water is very reactive when in dreams, and is usually about your emotions being reactive. This often shows that you might be feeling overwhelmed by your emotions or by what’s going on in your life right now. If you dream about the sea or larger bodies of water, then you are definitely in tune with your emotions, but feel like you need to express them more for people to understand you. This is easier for women to do than men (as they sometimes bottle it all up). Check out our lucky numbers guide to see which number to play if you dream about water.
When you miss a flight you are panicking and stressed and you feel like you have no control over the situation. This reflects the meaning perfectly, it’s all about control (or loss of it, right!).
If you dream about missing a flight it can mean that you are not feeling like you are in control of your life or in a given situation.
Try and remember though, that there are some things you just can’t control, and you shouldn’t stress about too much.
To dream about amputation or missing a limb can mean that you’re scared of missing out on something important, or that you are worried about losing something that’s important to you.
Losing a limb in real waking life is definitely disastrous - and we can feel cut off from 'something'
This depends on what type of natural disaster you are dreaming about.
**See also Flood**
A tornado can mean you’re overwhelmed (as it does with floods).
An earthquake can represent your world falling apart , meaning that you are possibly not in your control.
I imagine playing the guitar, and yes, I do dream about it too. Infact, lots of us have musical dreams even though we don't and can't play instruments.
But for those who "do" play instruments , your brain is just craving a bit more more creativity, so make more time to play your instrument. For those who don't play an instrument, and have these dreams, well - your brain is suggesting that you need or want to be more creative and get in touch with the other side of your brain.
Predicting the future in your dreams?
These 'can' work, but sometimes not. Sometimes we can predict the basics, but then the details fall short. If you’re having dreams about predicting the future, or even just dreams about the future, it’s definitely a good thing. Dreams about money in your future, thats good, wealth, health - those are all good future dreams to have.
Sounds like a bad dream, but this one is generally a good dream to have. Dreaming about escaping from prison can mean that you are preparing for a really big and positive change.
Prison is seen as limiting, a rigid framework, a set of rules, and when you escape from that , it can mean that you are anticipating a big positive change, and freedom from the 'bars' holding you back.
Public speaking is generally very unnerving and often a scary thing for most people to do. So, again, a fear which most people dream about, and fears become our dreams because we give them a lot of mental ‘attention’.
Think about what it is that you need to get out in the open, or perhaps some secret that you are hiding or with-holding from others.
Sadly in todays world there are lots of people who are not actually happy in their jobs or work, and frequently fantasize about quitting, punching their boss and running away to freedom! I would imagine that lots of people dream about quitting their job, so its a common theme.
It just means you want more freedom or a change. Creating a change in your life is actually pretty simple, you just have to DO it. Quitting a job also, is easy, you just have to take the leap of faith, and make the move.
Books are strongly linked with intelligence and knowledge in almost all cultures around the world, so this is a good dream.
Dreaming about books can mean that you are keen to learn, thirsty for knowledge on a particular topic or subject, or perhaps you want to gain more knowledge on a situation. To dream about reading can mean you’re ready to learn new things and you want new challenges.
If you keep dreaming about books, maybe it’s a sign that you are in need of new knowledge. Try reading every night, which is actually a good way to lucid dream more.
This is one of the basic needs right? Our bodies want food, shelter, love and , yes , also sex. It is no wonder it is one of most natural and common dreams to have.
Our adult brain thinks about this subject very often. When we see a person whom we are attracted to, we are often reminded that we desire sex and that it would be pleasurable.
Thus, having a dream or many dreams about sex is usually just indicative that you are a healthy adult and that everything is working the way that it should.
A common dream that can be surprisingly puzzling? Yes, you are dreaming about your mundane, boring, regular everyday actions and events.
Perhaps you went to sleep thinking about everything you had to do the next day. Look at the emotions which were you feeling in the dream, were you stressed, relaxed , or were you even anxious. Maybe its a change in routine that is needed in the real waking life.
There are some things that don’t really mean anything when we dream about them.
Some would argue that every dream has a meaning, and yes, to some degree it does, but films are usually different. It’s just your brain playing back some of what you have just watched.
The most common film dreams are usually horror films, or superhero films.
**See Also Quitting your job**
Running away means you want freedom, something is tying you down and you want to be free of it. It also depends on what you are running from and what you are running towards, that will give your dream a different meaning.
If you’re running towards something positive, it means you want more freedom.
If you’re running away from something negative, it means you lack control and direction, and you know you want a change, you just don’t know what change you want or how to get it.
If you can't move in your dream and keep on running but you are stuck in one place, then this dream is all about control.
This generally means that you’re not feeling in control of your life. You are feeling that no matter how much effort you are giving or how much you are putting into things, that nothing is really changing or moving.
This is actually a really common dream- because most people don’t really change, and when they do try and change they set goals in the wrong way, so nothing happens.
Consider what your goals are, what you want in life, and what you’re doing to try and get there.
This can mean that you are not happy with your current situation and you really want it to change. Remember what I said about most dreams meaning you want change, or fear change?
Searching for something means you are looking for this change and you really want it to happen.
This is a good dream to have, and it means you’re actively ready to change.
This means that you are hiding a part of yourself, or that you have a hidden potential that is yet to be uncovered. This dream is positive almost all the time.
Think about the areas of your life that you might be able to develop more like a talent or skill.
Did the dead visit you in a dream? Dreaming about a dead relative or close friend, is a way of your mind getting some closure, or even just seeing the person.
It’s a common dream symbol because for anyone who's lost a loved one, you always want more time with them.Often we think about them during daily life and wish we could see them again, and so our dreams just do that for us.
Sometimes they are guiding us to our fortune.
Simple to explain, you are missing them and want to spend more time with them.
This is particularly common among students and old people, or if you have moved away from your old friends - as there is a disconnection.
Are you waiting for good news?
This is most common if for example, you’re waiting to hear about a job you’ve applied for, or if you’re waiting on the results of something like an exam.
It can be just a sign that your brain is thinking about the results.
Whether you dream about a good or a bad message just depends on whether you’re an optimist or a pessimist.
Scary or not, but we all get sleep paralysis every night, and this is less of a dream and more of an experience. The thing is most of us are 'asleep' when it happens, so we don’t really notice it, but it is there and it does happens.
Sometimes, part of our brain wakes up during sleep paralysis, and this experience can be very scary. It feels like you’re being crushed, and it’s not really a dream although you’re not awake while this happens. You’re sort of in between dreaming and being awake, which is why I’ve included it here as one of the most common dreams.
Some people also report feelings of being punched or having someone on top of them. This experience has also been called the sleep paralysis demon which many people have experienced.
This is a very common animal to dream about.
Snakes are easily linked with lies and deception. Historically, snakes have been linked to lies in the bible and then, throughout history.
To dream about a snake can mean that you’re anxious about something or you think someone around you is lying about something. Check out our lucky numbers guide to see which number to play if you dream about snake.
Spiders are probably one of the most commonly feared insects.
To dream about something you fear is pretty normal (and sometimes it is a good way to get over it, because you are confronting it).
After a while you start to get used to is and become less scared of it. If you’re SCARED of spiders and you keep dreaming about them, work with that and just keep dreaming about them. Check out our lucky numbers guide to see which number to play if you dream about spiders.
Mud or concrete are pretty sticky substances , so with this dream you are very worried about not being able to change.
Lots of people are worried about being stuck or staying in the same place for too long. Others don’t seem to mind. So, consider how it is that you are feeling about being stuck in the same place for a long time.
In general drugs are substances that meet a need, which can either be addiction or illness.
Perhaps you feel like your health is in bad shape and you want a fix. Also, you could want the freedom associated with a 'high' from particular drugs.
You could literally be worried about an upcoming test or examination that you are writing.
BUT subconsciously , it means that you are anxious and nervous about being put to a test in your 'real' life.
It can also mean that you feel like you’re being judged by the people around you. This is hardly a bad thing, and sometimes it’s just your brain saying ‘you’re being watched' by people’. This often means that you’re worried about what others will think of you, or how you will perform in some big life event that is coming up.
This can mean that you are after a better connection with nature.
Its easy, get back in touch with nature. Go on a hike, a walk , do yoga in the forest, walk on the beach and re-connect!
One of the most common dreams, in-fact even I have these! Can you even call this a dream, I would say nightmare! Turns out that its common, because it links to one one of the most common emotions, fear.
When we lose our milk teeth, we’re actually scared. Our moms and dads are proud, but it’s usually the first 'really' traumatic or scary thing we experience as little people. So it’s no surprise that our mind links this experience of trauma with other things in life that make you feel scared or uneasy and create the same FEAR emotion. And if you dream about your teeth falling out as an adult, it basically means that you’re scared or worried about the changes going on in your life now.
This is actually a fairly wise dream to have.
Deep down your brain and your true self knows that life consists of many ups and downs, that there will be good times and bad times. This is a reminder that you should expect the ups and downs, and that you cant control 'everything'.
Also remember that you don’t have to crash, so learn to enjoy the ride. You can also learn how to manage your emotions and reactions to things that happen, so that you can experience a more balanced and enjoyable ride through life.
This is when you dream about people that you know, and where they do something that ‘always do’.
This can be a dream about a friend talking in a certain way, or about your partner, and the the specific mannerisms they have. It does not mean anything specific but it can be said that it refers to your pre-conception of them.
This refers to your desire to change things to go back and live that one moment one more time.
Often we either have a moment in history we would like to change, or a moment we would like to re-live again and this sort of dream reflects that.
Dreaming about a vehicle , is not really anything in particular. Rather, dreaming about a car crash perhaps, can mean that you are worried about something about to happen. **See also Car crash**.
This type of dream should be paid more attention to as it symbolises emotional stress or a bad mental state.
Wasps are pretty annoying and can be pretty scary for people (especially the bigger more aggressive ones).
Dreaming about wasps can be a symbol of evil friends or just bad people around you , and it can also mean that you are not happy with the people around you.
Be careful with this one, (and if you have recurring wasp-dreams) then think about what in your life could be annoying you or making you angry. Think about who in your circle may just be 'evil'. Check out our lucky numbers guide to see which number to play if you dream about wasps.

Water related dreams can mean you feel overwhelmed or unsupported, most often by loved ones. If it’s a large amount of water it can mean that you have deep seated emotions or that there is a strong emotional reaction to something that is happening in your life 'right' now.
It can mean various things but mainly it symbolises being either trapped or free. You also need to consider what you link with water in your daily life to open up the deeper meaning.
This is one of two things. Dreaming about wetting yourself can mean that well, you are actually peeing. It’s very common to dream about wetting yourself when you’re weeing in real life, and it’s more common earlier in life where we often associate it with being bad or embarrassing.
The other reason we might dream about weeing the bed or weeing in general, is if we feel like we are under pressure, or like we are being judged.
Having dreams about women may mean that you need to recognize and connect with characteristics of your feminine side and archetype. Perhaps this is something that you may have missed or something that are avoiding.
The dreams of a woman can evoke a range of emotions, especially with what women are known to stand for, which is strength, nurturing, femininity, sensuality and also vulnerability. Check out our lucky numbers guide to see which number to play if you dream about women (and there are many different types)
This is personal for everyone.
Usually, it can just mean that you WANT the thing that it is you want.
If it’s something you feel shamed about, or that you should not be thinking it, then maybe consider if it is a legitimate desire, or something that is not allowed.
For example, if it’s something illegal, and you know you can’t do it in waking life, then your brain might be just trying to scratch it’s own itch by letting you experience it in a dream.
Finally, dream number 100! And who would have thought that zombie dreams would be so common?
Dreaming about zombies can mean you’re worried about past mistakes coming back to haunt you. Zombies are the dead coming back to life, and so dreaming about them means that you are worried about the past coming back to scare you or to ruin your current life. Think about whether there are any unresolved conflicts with people in your past or something like that. Check out our lucky numbers guide to see which number to play if you dream about zombies.
